Thoughts

Usually on Thursday I try to finish up my message for the coming Sunday. Lots of reading and studying and thinking. Reading the bible and other books pertaining to the message. Trying to study subjects and even Hebrew and Greek words (I’m not that smart). But also thinking.
And this is where the train left the track. Not sure why, but I can’t focus this morning. I’m not sure if it’s because of last night. You see, Tammy and I went to bed around 10:30pm. At that time, Kelcey and Jordan were in the Jacuzzi outside. I usually am the last to go to bed but Wednesdays are looong days for me and I was tired. We went to bed and apparently fell asleep quickly because at 11:20pm I heard a phone ringing. I looked at my phone on the nightstand and I had missed 2 calls (from Jordan). It would seem that when Tammy went to bed she made sure (as she always does) that the house was sealed up like Alcatraz locking out our two hot tub hotties. It was a little cool last night so when I got to the back door, the children they were a shiverin (I did grin as I walked/stumbled back to the bedroom).
It could have been because of this morning. Jade (Great Dane baby lap dog) decided that 5am wasn’t too early for a bathroom visit. I wasn’t happy until we came back in and I realized I had to go also. It would’ve been a little hypocritical to be upset with her now wouldn’t it? Couldn’t go back to sleep so showered and headed to the gym with Jordan for some early morning shooting.
Whatever the reason, you, my dear reader, are the one that will suffer for it. Here are some of my random thoughts this morning (I want you to understand that I grew up in a generation before they started medicating children with my problem).
  • I thought that as long as the lines are for bathrooms (at Dollywood) that maybe they should do like at drive thru banks and fast food. Place signs on the wall that says please have your transaction in hand and ready when approaching urinal.
  • And speaking of bathrooms what about these for when you’re in a stall in a public restroom:
    • Cheer and clap loudly every time someone breaks the silence w/ a bodily function noise.
    • Stick your open palm under the stall wall and ask your neighbor, "May I borrow a highlighter?"
    • Stand at the door with a roll of toilet paper and charge a quarter a sheet
    • Drop a bra on the floor under the stall wall and sing "Born Free."
    • Lower a small mirror underneath the stall wall; adjust it so you can see your neighbor and say, "Peek-a-boo!"

  • I wonder why certain foods are ok only at certain times of the day. Why is biscuits and gravy considered a “breakfast food”? Why shouldn’t we have tomato soup for breakfast or Krystals?
  • I wonder if any of this pertains to my Mother’s Day message.
  • I wonder if I’m gonna be this tired tomorrow.
  • Tomato soup actually sounds good right now but so does Krystal.

I think I’ll go get lunch…
