Bad news Good news
Bad news – Tammy’s car died in the hospital parking lot yesterday
Good news – It started back.
Bad news – It died again.
Good news – It started again
You get the picture on this one. Quick run to the end… I got it home. Trust me, I have left out some funny details but you people work and don't have all day to just read stuff on your phones or computers (wink wink)!
Bad news – I’m not a mechanic. I mean, I’m really not a mechanic. I am so not a mechanic that my computer is faulting even typing that word with my hands (it really is THAT bad).
Good news – I'm not a mechanic but I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night or called a friend who is the best mechanic; my story, my way, leave it alone.
Bad news – It was the same part that was replaced less than two years ago that was causing a problem.
Good news – It was the same part that was replaced less than two years ago that was causing a problem and since it was less than two years it was still under warranty
Bad news – I chose to fix it myself. Raised the hood and everything.
Good news – I chose to fix it myself. Raised the hood and everything and I fixed it. Yay me!
(Brad’s eyes) Bad news – This is starting to happen a lot and with 150,000 miles I am probably going to have to get Tammy another car
(Tammy’s eyes) Good news – This is starting to happen a lot and with 150,000 miles he is probably going to get me another car.
Bad news – We haven’t had a car payment in 6 years. 6 YEARS
Good news – We haven’t had a car payment in 6 years but this will be an opportunity for us to get her a really nice car. Not new, but you get the picture. She deserves it.
Bad news – I’m still fasting (I don’t like it but I have crazy respect for those that do)
Good news – I’m still fasting and because of it my prayer time has been great. I have felt the presence of God so much more than before the fast began.
Bad news – The fast ends at midnight on Wednesday.
Good news – The fast ends at midnight on Wednesday and I will be eating something by 12:01am Thursday. Cow, pig, or chicken! It really doesn't matter.
Soooooo, what does all this mean. The situation never changed in any of these scenarios but perception did. Your circumstances don’t have to change for your attitude to change. If things look bleak, change your view. Don’t let something like a car or food determine who you are! Look around. You can go with me today. I will be visiting a cancer patient with an impeccable attitude. Checking in with a family with a sick little girl. Going to different places seeing if people want or need a hot meal tomorrow night (by the way if you do or know someone who would appreciate it, 1104 Montvale Station Rd. Maryville 5:30-7:00pm Tuesday January 31st).
17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.
