Signs

Signs
As it pertains to typical male drivers, I’m not one. I always look for signs and always am willing to stop and ask for directions. I don’t like being lost. It’s not good for time and even worse for ego. Signs keep you updated where you are and tell you how to navigate the road. Some people ignore signs and others just simply think that they know better than the people that built the road and placed the signs.
I sometimes have thought that I knew better than God how to maneuver through this life. It’s hard to admit but I’m sure that’s what I was thinking when I reminded him of some earthly facts that he obviously wasn’t paying attention to. These may be familiar to you:
“I know what your Word says, Lord, but don’t you see how they are treating me!”
“Yeah, yeah, you said you would take care of me but don’t you watch the news? The economy is terrible right now!”
“You want me to do what? Have you paid attention to what I’ve done for them already and how they’re treating me and now you want me to do what?”
But God is so awesome; he just calmly sits and points to signs he has placed along the road. Never panicking from the NEW information that I have brought to the situation, he just sits and waits on me to come around. He doesn’t negotiate well. He doesn’t barter well. And he certainly doesn’t panic well. I saw some signs today that I thought I could share with you. Some of you may be on the same road that I’m on and, like me sometimes, you may be so busy watching for potholes, and speedometers, and gas gauges, that you may have missed some of these.
·         Love God more than you fear hell.
·         Once a week, let a child take u on a walk.
·         Make major decisions in a cemetery.
·         When no one is watching, live as if someone is.
·         Succeed at home first.
·         Don’t spend tomorrow’s money today.
·         Pray twice as much as you worry.
·         Listen twice as much as you speak.
·         Only harbor a grudge when God does.
·         God has forgiven you; you’d be wise to do the same.
·         Don’t feel guilty for God’s goodness.
·         Never give up what you want most for what you want right now.
·         Live a life that’s worth following.
And for those of you who are too overwhelmed by the storm to see the signs. I printed one for you here today. God bless, and have a great week!
Psalm 84:5-7 NLT
5 What joy for those whose strength comes from the Lord,
who have set their minds on a pilgrimage to Jerusalem.
6 When they walk through the Valley of Weeping,
it will become a place of refreshing springs.
The autumn rains will clothe it with blessings.
7 They will continue to grow stronger,
and each of them will appear before God in Jerusalem.
