Life as a window shopper
A lot of people do it. Look for a better job. Look for a better car. Always looking for something better. Better husband. Better wife. Or maybe as simply complicated as looking for a better life. Have you ever looked as these people who are looking for better things? Honestly, you have haven’t you? They are pitiful. Noses usually turned up while their spirits are turned down. You wouldn’t laugh at them but there is something sadly amusing about someone who has some good things going on in life but insist on wanting more, better, other. Can’t see the cookie for the icing. Can’t see the wife for the family. Can’t see the beautiful sky for the obnoxious sun.
Agree or disagree it’s really childish isn’t it? You have so much going for you but you insist on being dissatisfied.
FOR EXAMPLE… I have some awesome nephews and nieces. One of which is Evan. Evan is a cutie...
And Evan has it made. What his parents don't give him my family more than makes up for it. From grandparents to aunts and uncles, Evan has it made. My wife and daughter alone give him anything he growls for. More cake? Here you go. More cookie? It’s yours. Don't want to walk today? Come here gorgeous! So was the case last night at Jordan’s little birthday shindig. Evan was getting more attention than an Alcoa Highway crash at rush hour when he started looking around (window shopping if you will). He noticed that he wasn’t outside and all the cool kids were. Even the 4 year olds were outside! Yes, good looks and charm only go so far. I mean designer diapers, Jordan shoes, and even a firetruck on his shirt; a FIRETRUCK people and yet he felt lacking. You have to be in with the “in” crowd if you're going to be somebody. It got to him sooooo bad that he ended up looking like this…
Face pressed up against the window of life...Isn't he precious? So the next time you feel the need to “look around”, remember Evan. He is awesome and very handsome, but even he looks a little out of sorts when he becomes dissatisfied with a pretty awesome life.
