Thank You

Dear Heavenly Father,

I just want to say thank you for today. It has already been a great day and it isn’t even 4:30pm. I actually enjoyed taking Jordan to his diabetes appointment. We got to spend the morning together and got a great report from the endocrinologist. Not to mention since it was a lot of the same workers at clinic that was there when Kelcey went there, I got to brag on how good she is doing when they asked about her. Our kids are awesome and we know we didn’t have much to do with that but you do. Thank you for my kids.

Father, I am so thankful for Tammy and all that she is and what she does for me. I enjoy being her husband, lover, friend, but mostly I love being her protector, provider, and priest. I am blessed. She is beautiful, amazing, and as crazy as it sounds, crazy about me. Thank you for my wife/friend.

We have some great friends. Men, who are such incredible people that I would be honored if my son would live his life like them. Obviously I want him to be all the best of me and them also but I understand the blessing that it is to have Godly men for him to see. Women, who are Godly, genuine, and who are strong enough to show my daughter what it is like to be a woman of God. Yes, of course I want her to be like her mom but also to take the great qualities of other women and become strong and full of faith. Thank you for friends.

Just family. Yeah, some people are ashamed of their families but Tammy and I have the greatest. We are close and that is a miracle. Our parents, my brothers and sisters, and our nieces and nephews are so much a part of our lives it still makes people take a double take. Thank you for family.

I realize that the Buick isn’t a Porsche but it is paid for and it was given to me. I enjoy driving it and it has started every time I have asked it to. There is a speaker busted but you don’t really have to have a kickin system when you mostly listen to sports and news on the radio. The front tires are almost worn out but someone gave me a set of used tires a while back for just such an occasion. Thank you for my car.

Thank you for my home. It isn’t a mansion but it is more than I deserve. It is cool in the summer, warm in the winter, safe during the storms, and an awesome place to call home. It has things that still need work and for some reason we still can’t grow grass but it is awesome and we are blessed. Thank you for our home.

Thank you for our church, RIO 180. There are so many incredible people that go there. New people see it rather quickly and that, God, is really cool. They are always helping others and making our community better. The most selfless, hardworking, Jesus-loving people I have ever been around. Some that are family, some that I have known for over 20 years, and some that I have just gotten to know over the last 3-5 years. Wow, it’s awesome to be around people that don’t sweat the small stuff and just want to be part of something great. Thank you for RIO 180 and the RIO Network.

Last but not least. Thank you for grace. I know it’s hard to explain and harder still to understand but my best guess is that you love me and saved me and I know I don’t, nor ever did, deserve it. Just because of who you are you chose to love me and offer salvation to me. I never wear my salvation with arrogant pride but with a deep heartfelt humility. That’s the only way, right? I mean when you get something given to you that you couldn’t earn yourself and didn’t deserve, shouldn’t it be humility that gets the front seat? Thank you for grace.

God you are so good to me and my family. I sometimes get overwhelmed with what all you have done and continue to do. Help me, Lord, to honor you with my hands, my heart, and my life. Thank you for my life. Amen

Pastor Dad
